XFightLog is a flight logbook created for X-Plane 9.
While keeping track of your flights, XFlightLog is able to gather flight informations (position, altitude, times etc.) during a flight automatically from X-Plane (sent as UDP packets) from any other machine (and operating system!) in the network.
XFlightLog may then also export a flight to a KML file to be watched in Google Earth. Download the demo KML here.
XFlightLog is in *VERY* early stage, and current beta users do not only need Java 6 and some know how about the X-Plane network configuration but also a fair amount of humor ;-)
If you would like to give it a try, you may download kits here:
- For OSX
- For Linux
- Even for Windows
See more screenshots here.
A (very) short manual:
- Configure your X-Plane to send the Packets 1 and 20 to the IP where XFlightLog is running. Probably on Port 49000, but different if it's on the same machine.
- Start XFlightLog and create a new logbook and flight (twice, the title is also the file name).
- In the flight panel, go to X-Plane data, and start receiving data packets from X-Plane. The data may then also be attached (back) to the flight.
- In the flight panel you may then (if the data was saved also into the corresponding file) export the flight to a KML file and watch it in google earth.
